SWISS SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: Phishing Attack on Hotels

12.12.2023 – Cybercriminals have stolen hotels’ access data to booking platforms such as booking.com and are trying to defraud hotel guests. Via the DataBreach reporting portal, the FDPIC is receiving a number of reports of data security breaches at hotels and accommodation providers that report phishing attacks via email from booking.com to their hotel guests. EUROPEAN DATA PROTECTION BOARD: Dutch DPA fines Booking.com for delay in reporting data breach

The Dutch Data Protection Authority (DPA) has imposed a €475,000 fine on Booking.com because the company took too long to report a data breach to the DPA. When the breach occurred, criminals obtained the personal data of over 4,000 customers. They also got their hands on the credit card information of almost 300 people. DUTCH SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: Booking.com has been sanctioned for having reported a data breach too late

The Dutch Data Protection Authority (AP) has sanctioned with a fine of 475.000 EUR Booking.com for having reported a data breach to AP too late.  In this data breach, hackers have plundered personal data of more than 4.000 clients.
