It was really scary what happened to the citizens of Milan during these days that received a sms from ATS Milan that warned them about the get in touch with people affected by coronavirus.
It was only a huge informatic mistake from the Health Protection Agency of the Metropolitan City of Milan.

In this message, the users read the following text: “ ATS Milano. dear Mr./Mrs./Ms you seem to get in touch with a coronavirus case. We recommend you to stay isolated into your residence, limit contacts with your family and take the temperature everyday. If you’re a health worker please follow your company recommendations”.

Even at the beginning the users were terrified, they after thought that this could be a bad joke, but from the other hand the sender was the ATS and this left no doubts. It was the Health Protection Agency of the Metropolitan City of Milan that caused this mess.

To find a way to get a solution, the 26 of May the Health Protection Agency of the Metropolitan City of Milan send another notification sms, but the mistake had been already done, with its all reactions and alert consequences and as if they were not enough with stress and worries since the Covid-19 emergency started.

To keep well known the mistakes with an notice on the web site, was the same ATS Milano, Agency of the Lombardy Region, that manages the health emergency not so good, at least regarding the personal data processing, especially when they are data concerning health more safeguards must be applied in order to guarantee the “natural person protection” as mentioned in the beginning of the GDPR.
