In May, the Danish Data Protection Authority asked Rejsekort some general questions about the new Rejsekort app and about the personal data collected in the app. The Danish Data Protection Authority has now started an investigation into the app’s own operation and has asked Rejsekort for an explanation.
The Norwegian Data Protection Authority has previously asked Rejsekort to answer some general questions, e.g. about how the rejsekort app works and about the personal data – including location data – that is collected in the app. The Danish Data Protection Authority did this because the Danish Data Protection Authority considered whether there was a basis for launching a real investigation into the rejsekort app and the processing of personal data that takes place in the app.
On the basis of the answers that the Data Protection Authority has received from Rejsekort – and on the basis of the nature of the case in general – the Data Protection Authority has now decided to initiate a further investigation and in this connection has asked Rejsekort for an explanation.
Here you can read the Data Protection Authority’s letter to Rejsekort.
Currently, the Danish Data Protection Authority has not dealt with other transport companies’ self-developed apps and the processing of personal data that may occur when using such apps.
