An agreement on personal data protection of consumers when they are using services of contents providers online has been signed today by Ventsislav Karadzhov – President of the Personal Data Commission (CPPD) and Stoil Alipiev – President of the National Association for Consumer Protection (NAPA).
One of the main purposes of the cooperation is to protect rights and fundamental freedoms of people, in particular their right to protect their personal data, as well as to actively contrast their illegal processing.
The agreement signed on the personal data protection of users when they are used online services of providers is a great mechanism in order to prevent the recollection, the processing and the illegal usage of personal data of internet users.
The CPPD and NAPA will investigate and analyze in which measure data controller online which providers services that use cookies and other tracking technologies are in compliance with the European Regulation 2016/679 and the Data Protection Act.
The scope of the study will cover service providers online in different sectors.
Both parts are compromised to jointly conduct a sensibilization campaign on personal data protection, their storage, their processing and their usage in order to prevent abusive conditions.
The Personal Data Protection Commission and the National Association for the Protection of Consumer will cooperate actively, and they will exchange information in cases of abuse of personal data in consumer’s alarms.
Good practices identified will be promoted.
