After some notifications about episodes in which video-calls and meet in Skype of prisoners would take place without the minimum conditions of confidentiality, and, in particular, by breaching the prohibition of the auditory control by custodial staff, the Italian Data Protection Authority and the National Authority for the rights of persons deprived of liberty

recall the Directions of Penitentiary Institutes and custodial staff to the respect of some essential guarantees for the protection of the confidentiality of prisoners who have the access to communications moods or talks;

They recommend, except specific measures required under provision of the Judicial Authority, to prepare connection station to ensure the custody staff the visual control but by keeping distances, and only getting closer to the screen for carrying out specific operations of identification of interlocutors, without listening the conversation;

They recommend that the detection of the identity of the respective takes place at the beginning and at the end of the conversation with the prompt drop out to the communication environment in order to guarantee the conversation confidentiality.
