More than the 43% of Polish people fear that during the pandemic they will became victims of personal data extorsion. About the 30% of them have already faced a similar event. At the same time, more than the 84% of them declare to understand how to take care of their safety. Anyway, borders among generations are clearly outlined.
Youth are well prepared for the fight against criminals, because they are very able to verify received messages compared to elder people. Those are conclusions of the study carried out by the website ChronPESEL.pl and from the national register of debts with the patronage of the Office of personal data protection.
Two-third of the population think that during a pandemic criminal which extort personal data are actively more than ever.
In March 2021, by the commission of the website ChronPESEL.pl and from the national register of debts of the Economic Information Bureau SA wit the patronage of the Office of Security, more fraudulent activities have been noticed by women (over 70%) and interviewed between the ages of 25 and 34 – nearly 73%.
The fact that the subject is present in the media has a positive effect on the awareness of Poles. This is important because the first step to taking care of your own security is being aware of the risk.
Currently, it may seem that there are more important threats, but you must be aware that the consequences of the scams we are witnessing may interest us long after the epidemic is under control. Certainly, a positive phenomenon is the increased awareness of security and the method of fraud verification among younger respondents. This allows us to hope that over time we will be able to take better care of the security of our personal data.
