ROMANIAN SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: Another sanction for breaching the GDPR.

The National Supervisory Authority has completed on the 15 of September 2020 an investigation at the operator Globus Score SRL and it has showed that it has not carried out the corrective actions in order to offer the required information to the Supervisory Authority, by breaching the instructions of our institute, act laid down in the Article n. 83, paragraph 5, letter e), and set out in the Article n. 58, paragraph 1 of the General Data Protection Regulation. 

For this reason, the operator Globus Score SRL has been sanctioned with a sanction of 9.713,14 lei, which is 2.000 Euros

Meanwhile, it has also applied the corrective action in order to share with the Supervisory Authority all the required information. 

In this context, it should be noticed that the Article n. 83, paragraph 5, letter e) of the General Data Protection Regulation, requires the following: 

“ Infringements of the following provisions shall, in accordance with paragraph 2, be subject to administrative fines up to 20 000 000 EUR, or in the case of an undertaking, up to 4 % of the total worldwide annual turnover of the preceding financial year, whichever is higher:

e)  non-compliance with an order or a temporary or definitive limitation on processing or the suspension of data flows by the supervisory authority pursuant to Article 58, paragraph 2 or failure to provide access in violation of Article 58, paragraph 1.” SOURCE: AUTORITA’ PER LA PROTEZIONE DEI DATI DELLA ROMANIA
