During the plenary session of 12 February, the EDPB decided to include in the scope of its task force dedicated to ChatGPT the investigations concerning DeepSeek, and in general all operational actions carried out under the GDPR concerning AI systems.
Furthermore, the EDPS members stressed the need to coordinate the actions of the authorities on urgent sensitive issues. To this end, a rapid response team will be set up at EDPS level.
Age verification of minors online
The EDPB has also adopted a statement on online age verification . In it, the EDPB sets out ten key principles from the GDPR (e.g. respect for rights, data minimisation , etc.) for compliant data processing when determining a person’s age or age range.
This statement aims to ensure a consistent European approach to online age screening, in order to protect minors in the digital world while respecting data protection principles.
