October is Cyber Security Month, and it’s a great time to take another look at how we protect our personal data online. In today’s digital environment, personal data is one of the most valuable tools that can unfortunately fall into the wrong hands and be used for malicious purposes. This month, we invite everyone to review their online habits and pay attention to data protection measures – to think if this is really the information I want to share. Also, it might be worth creating new and unique passwords, reviewing your privacy settings, and taking other steps to protect yourself online!
- Know what you’re sharing with! Whenever you click “I agree”, you can give access to your personal data. Reports what permissions you give to websites!
- Create strong passwords! Use unique and complex passwords for each account. If possible, enable two-factor authentication.
- Take care of your digital footprint! Every click online leaves a mark. Think twice before posting private information, because the internet is known to forget very reluctantly.
- Create safe shopping habits! When shopping online, check the credibility of the website. Pay attention to its design, name and cookie policy. Choose only safe payment methods!
